How to Get to Gallastar
Afton is a small town about 20 miles west of Charlottesville near the geographic center of Virginia. From Interstate 64, take Exit 99 (note signs for Shenandoah National Park and Wintergreen Ski Area) and bear right to follow Highway 250 North towards Afton. After reaching the bottom of the mountain, turn right onto Highway 151 (note signs for Wintergreen Ski Area) and follow this 7.9 miles to County Road 635, which will be immediately after Ashley's Grocery on the right. Follow 635 for 2.4 miles, turning right onto a gravel road immediately past High Point Lane onto Greenfield Mountain Farms Road (take the second of the two adjacent gravel roads). The gravel road ends a half mile later at Gallastar.
